Angie Walters (2006)
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Angie Walters is a breast cancer survivor since 2005 which inspired her to create a 501(c)(3) charity, the BCAP (Breast Cancer Assistance Program) Fund in 2006. She has held the position of Founder & Chief Executive Officer of BCAP since its inception. Currently, Angie is also the Executive Assistant at Schnake Turnbo Frank and past Executive Assistant to Mike Neal, President & CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Angie has spent most of her life in Oklahoma. She attended the Sapulpa and Broken Arrow school systems and is a graduate of Langston University, where she received many honors and awards. She holds a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice. She spent many years working in the law and private investigator fields, working as a court appointed special advocate and licensed private investigator.
Angie also serves on the board of Executive Women International and is a Tulsa Regional Campaign volunteer. Accolades include 2012 Williams Women of Inspiration top 30 nominee and 2010 Tulsa Shock Women of Inspiration top 5 nominee. Angie’s husband, Norm, is an A&P mechanic and has been with American Airlines here in Tulsa since 1992. They have grown children. In her leisure time, Angie enjoys motorcycle and ATV riding, boating on the lake and family vacations in Mexico.
Randy Gasswint (2008)
President & Chief Administrations Officer
Randy has been a board Member of BCAP (Breast Cancer Assistance Program), a 501(c)(3) charity, since 2008, was named President in 2011 and gained the title of Chief Operating Officer and President in 2014.
Randy has been a sales associate for the past 10 years with RE/MAX, the largest real estate company in the world. He has experience selling residential, commercial and investment property. He is a multi-million dollar achiever with RE/MAX and a member of the 100% Club. He has also earned his Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Designation, which reflects completion of advanced industry training. Only 4% of Realtors nationwide have achieved the CRS Accreditation.
Prior to that, Randy worked for 24 years for Southwestern Bell, AT&T, and several startup telecom companies in a variety of positions, including network planning, human resources, and sales and marketing.
Randy has a BS in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University, with an emphasis in Marketing. He is past president of the Broken Arrow Noon Lions Club and past president of Business Network International (BNI). He is also a member of St. Benedicts Church in Broken Arrow. He is married to Malynn and has two sons, Brett, 23, who is a pilot in the Air Force and Tyler, 19, who is a manager with QuikTrip.
Christy Leach (2015)
Executive Vice Presidents of Patients
Christy Leach joined the BCAP board in July 2015 with service on the patient committee since BCAP’s inception in 2006. Christy is the cousin of the Founder and CEO, Angie Walters and has been on the journey with Angie since her diagnosis in September 2005.
Christy is a native Tulsan who graduated from Union High School and worked in the healthcare field from high school until 1995 when she opened her own medical billing practice, MedCollect. Christy operated this successful billing practice for over 15 years and in 2010 made the decision to close her business due to a change in the billing industry’s HIPPA guidelines. Then choosing a career in real estate became a licensed realtor at the end of 2011 and was Rookie of the Year in 2012 for Chinowth & Cohen selling $2 million in her first year in business. Her business has steadily grown each year and closed $3.5 million in sales in 2014.
Christy has been married for 31 years to Jim who is a safety consultant with Industrial Consultants based in Owasso. Industrial Consultants continues to be a sponsor for BCAP. Christy and Jim have three grown children. Christy spends her leisure time boating, exercising, bike riding and traveling with her husband.
Ann Louise Lowry (2014)
Ann Lowry has spent most of her life in Tulsa. She graduated from Owasso High School and later received a Bachelor of Science with emphasis in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma. After spending several years as a Staff Accountant for a local tax firm and later an HR Coordinator, she currently works as a Business Development Manager for Accounting Principals in Tulsa.
Ann's mother, Dianne Smith (also a BCAP Board Member) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in December of 2004. While watching her mother fight so hard against the disease, Ann developed the desire to assist others going through the same fight. Ann is a member of TYPROS, a volunteer for DVIS (Domestic Violence Intervention Service)/Call Rape, and is House Corporation President for Chi Omega Fraternity on the University of Tulsa campus.
Ann and her husband, Hutton reside in mid-town Tulsa with their dog, Trigger.
Ryan Sappington (2016)
Chief Financial Officer
Ryan is a lifelong Oklahoman, born and raised in Claremore. He graduated with his undergraduate degree (2009) from Rogers State University shortly after received a Masters of Science in Entrepreneurship from Oklahoma State University (2011).
Upon graduation, Ryan spent the next three years living in Kansas City, Missouri working as a pricing analyst for a global distribution company in Olathe, Kansas. Having the intent of only being away from Oklahoma for a few years to acquire valuable work experience and pay off student loans, he returned back in 2014 to work as a Sr. Financial Analyst for Nichols Brothers, Inc. (consistent donor to BCAP) in downtown Tulsa, a privately owned investment company with interests in energy, technology, and real estate.
Ryan and his soon-to-be wife Krista now reside in Collinsville. Having no kids currently, aside from two dogs Piper (Corgi) / Penny (French Bulldog), they prioritize traveling as often as allowable for a hobby, and spending quality time with family members after being away from home years ago for an extended period of time.
Norman Walters (2006)
Board Member at Large
Norman Walters has been a Board Member of BCAP (Breast Cancer Assistance Program), a 501(c)(3) charity, since its inception in 2006 and serves on the Candidate Committee. Norman has worked as an A & P Aircraft Mechanic at American Airlines since 1992.
Norman has attended many classes at Tulsa Junior College in the Criminal Justice field as well as attending classes to obtain his A & P mechanic’s license. He also serves on the board for Heritage Park Homeowners Association.
Norman is married to Angie, and they have two college age children. In his leisure time, Norman enjoys motorcycle and ATV riding, hunting, boating on the lake, and family vacations in Mexico.
Crystal Ghere (2014)
Board Member at Large
Crystal joined the BCAP Board of Directors in 2014 through Tulsa’s Young Professionals board internship program as a way to further develop herself on a professional level while giving back to her community. With a family history of breast cancer, Crystal wanted to help contribute to BCAP’s mission.
Crystal started her finance career in the telecom industry, working at both Level 3 Communications and Verizon in various billing, accounting and customer service roles. She is now the Treasury Operations Manager at QuikTrip Corporation, leading the treasury, cash management and store cash processing functions for the Tulsa-based company.
Growing up she lived at Horsethief Canyon, a historical park outside of Perkins, OK, and spent much of her childhood riding horses and hiking nature trails. Crystal attended Oklahoma State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics and International Business. She later returned to OSU to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and is now in the MBA program at the University of Tulsa. Crystal lives in Tulsa and enjoys hiking, traveling, archery and using her creative talents.
Cassie Zanovich (2016)
Board Member at Large, Patient Liason
Cassie Zanovich started her volunteer experience with BCAP during the 2011 fashion show. It wasn’t until recently that she became an active volunteer as the patient liaison and now board member at large. Cassie is looking forward to connecting with patients and helping them along their way through BCAP.
Cassie graduated from Broken Arrow High School and Tulsa Community College before working as Certified Apartment Manager for Case and Associates at various properties in Oklahoma and Texas.
In January of 2011, Cassie made the decision to go back to school to begin her career in Esthetics. She spent two years working at a major med-spa where she mastered a long list of advanced aesthetic services. When the med-spa closed due to the owners passing from cancer, Cassie decided to open her own spa, Tulsa Beauty Bar, which specializes in Oncology Esthetics. Over the past five years Cassie has been advancing her knowledge and attending trainings all over the United States. She has a passion for making people look their best, even when they are feeling their worst.
She a member of First United Methodist Church, Look Good, Feel Better, and various Esthetician groups. Cassie has been married to her wonderful husband, Andy Zanovich since October of 2010. Andy is a lumber salesman for Building Solutions and is also a certified sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. For now, they have one beautiful daughter, Caroline.
Elissa Baker (2016)
Board Member at Large, Marketing Chair
Elissa Baker joined the BCAP board in January 2016 and has chaired the marketing committee since November 2015. Her previous volunteer work includes roles as an AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer at the Center for Empowerment and Economic Development in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a TYPROs Board Intern with the Tulsa Red Cross, and a virtual volunteer for a women’s economic development organization in Ghana.
Elissa is originally from Michigan and made Tulsa her home in 2008. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and her MBA in marketing from American University in Washington, DC. Her marketing career has primarily focused on the area of Internet marketing and she has held roles at organizations such as CareerBuilder.com and Williams & Williams Real Estate Auction. Her most recent position was Project Manager-Economic Development at the Tulsa Regional Chamber. In 2014, Elissa put her career on hold to be a full time mother.
Elissa has been married for 10 years to Adam who is Manager of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Group at Central National Bank. They have a two year old son, a dog named Charlie, and are expecting a daughter in the summer of 2016. In her leisure time, Elissa enjoys wine/food/cooking, traveling, reading, and shooting trap.
Aubry Oehlberg (2016)
Board Member at Large
Aubry Oehlberg began volunteering for BCAP in 2015 and became a Board Member in 2016. She serves on both the patient and marketing committees.
Aubry has worked in International Banking for over six years and is currently the International Specialist for Arvest Bank. She is a Certified Documentary Credit Specialist, a professional designation for international trade practitioners, and has worked for exporters in both the U.S. and abroad. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University, where she majored in International Business and French and studied at the Burgundy School of Business in Dijon, France. After college, she lived and worked in Germany for two years, before returning to Oklahoma. In 2013, she completed her Master of Business Administration at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa.
After seeing many family members and friends affected by breast cancer, Aubry is dedicated to helping BCAP reach as many patients as possible. Aubry lives in Tulsa with her husband, Jason, and spends her free time running, traveling, and hiking.
Courtney Kelley (2016)
Board Member at Large
Courtney Kelley was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. This experience inspired her to join BCAP in 2016 to help support others battling the disease. Currently, Courtney is an attorney at the Oklahoma-based law firm Hall Estill in downtown Tulsa.
Courtney grew up in Boulder, Colorado. She holds a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Colorado. Several months after graduating college, Courtney and a friend backpacked through South America for four months. After returning to the United States, Courtney earned her law degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. Courtney practices in the areas of oil and gas litigation and trust and estate litigation.
Courtney met her fiancé, Hunter, while living in Overland Park, Kansas. Hunter is a network engineer for Sprint. They have two dogs, Lu and Avery. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys snowboarding, playing golf, road biking and family vacations in Council Grove, Kansas and Faribault, Minnesota.
Jonica King (2016)
Board Member at Large, Public Information Chair
Jonica King became interested in volunteering after six difficult years of her daughter battling pryvate dehydrogenase E1 alpha sequencing. Her daughter was the first recorded case with her condition therefore not much was known, therefore she became a medical expert in her daughter’s medical condition. Jonica knew cancer and other medical issues affected more than the patient, it affected their whole family, which inspired her to help others.

Jonica has spent most of her life in Oklahoma and graduated from Broken Arrow High School. In 2011 she decided to go back to school completing a Writing and Editing Course, Fitness and Nutrition and finishing her Business Management Degree. She is currently working on getting her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Marketing and is a certified pool operator, lifeguard, swim instructor, first aid administer and is CPR certified. She is the Aquatic department’s head lifeguard and staffing coordinator at the YMCA Daily. Before that she worked in sales and completed minor courses for business management, economic concepts, leadership, marketing, negotiating and conflict management, sales, and shift leading.
Jonica’s daughter surpassed doctor’s life expectancy, reaching the age of six, passing away April of 2015. She has two sons and is a PTA member. When she has leisure time she enjoys camping, exploring, gardening, hiking, reading, swimming, traveling, working out, and anything outdoors during the summer. They attend New Life Center and Life Church and she leads a lifegroup with five to ten members in it.
Alyson Gonzalez (2016)
Board Member at Large
Alyson has volunteered with BCAP since November 2015 and joined the board in June 2016. Her personal experience with breast cancer led her to volunteer with BCAP. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and later participated as a survivor at BCAP’s annual fashion show in 2015. After hearing Angie’s story and reason for starting BCAP, Alyson became interested in volunteering with BCAP.
Alyson has spent most of her life moving across the United States as an Army Brat. She moved to Chicago for college where she obtained her BA in Animation and a Minor in Graphic design from DePaul University. Recently, she returned to Oklahoma where she currently works as an Administrative Assistant at Comgraphx.
Alyson began volunteering in high school and developed a sense of commitment to her community. While in college, she volunteered as an ESL tutor in Chicago’s Little Village where she realized her passion for helping and working with people. She continues this passion with BCAP in hopes of helping reach more breast cancer patients that could benefit from financial assistance.
Jessica Lozano (2016)
Board Member - Intern
After seeing the hardship, a coworker/friend went thru while undergoing breast cancer treatments she realized that not everyone is blessed with a great support system to help financially. When asked to choose an organization to do the board internship with Leadership Tulsa BCAP Fund was the one.
Jessica was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and every summer as a child was spent in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico. She graduated from Central High School and currently working on her Marketing Bachelor’s degree. Jessica’s career includes over 15 years of customer service and relationship management experience, currently she is the Latino Outreach Specialist for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Jessica has helped support BCBSOK’s Mobile Assistance Center (MAC) as a Spanish language translator/interpreter, and she’ll continue to collaborate with the MAC in her new role. Jessica also works with BCBSOK’s Public Relations team serving as a bilingual media spokesperson.
She currently serves as vice president of BCBSOK's Latinos for Advancement Business Resource Group, Leadership Tulsa Class 56, Mosaic and TCC Hispanic Student Association. Recently she was recognized with Mujer Trabajadora/Working Woman Award at the Celebrando la Mujer trabajadora 2016 Event for her continued support to the Latina community in the state of Oklahoma. In her spare time, Lozano enjoys exercising and spending time outside with her son. Lozano plans an annual trip to Mexico to visit her family.
